BERMUDA FACTS:

Little is known about the island that has become more know for “The Bermuda Triangle” than for its cultural and traditions which includes Gombay Dancers, one of Bermuda’s rich traditions and is the pride of all Bermudians. The word Gombay defines both an African drum and rhythm.

In fact Bermuda is on the Northern tip of the triangle with Miami (Florida, US) & San Juan (Puerto Rico) making up the other.

Although the whole of Bermuda is a small island with a population of around 64,200 (2008)- and a land area of only 21 square miles or 56 square kilometres, it includes 123 smaller islands; of which 20 are inhabited, it is filled with an abundance of artistic talents of every kind.

Bermuda who recently celebrated its 400th year anniversary, is one of the oldest, smallest but most populated of the British Overseas Territories - and oldest British Commonwealth member and despite our historical ties to the Caribbean, Bermuda is actually located in the Atlantic Ocean, 570 miles / 920 kilometres southeast of cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
